Hello...
I'm excited to share my web site with you. This page is a bit of my back story. I graduated from Goshen College in Goshen Indiana with a BA in studio art. I studied art therapy at Mt. Mary University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but did not pursue a career in art therapy or art. I considered a degree in art education, but finally settled on graduate school at Hunter College, CUNY where I received a degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. My goal was to travel a bit and experience the world around me and to learn from other cultures. I spent some time in Central America teaching school and traveling and then returned to the states and taught English for 30 years in Alexandria City Public Schools in northern Virginia. Throughout those years, I worked on art projects in the summer months and during my free time. I spent some time painting murals and many other projects. I am a member of the Art League in Alexandria Virginia and have enjoyed the variety of classes there which improved my art skills . After I retired from teaching, I set up a studio in the basement of my house and started working on art in a more focused way. My work has been accepted in the Old Town Alexandria Art League Gallery. The photo on the right shows me with one of my cut paper projects at the Art League Gallery. I continue to work on projects in my studio and look for opportunities to display my work in and around Arlington Virginia.
